There are several self-help support groups in the area that cover a variety of issues and are free of charge (e.g., AA/NA, suicide survivor, rape survivor, depression/anxiety, dating violence, learning disabilities, eating disorders). Generally there is a contact number and person who you have to call prior to attending the group, but some groups are open to having people drop in.
We have a list of resources. You can also check with your local National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), hospital, or mental health board for a list of local support groups and contact information for the issues you would like to explore.
