Addiction

We know that the path to healing may seem insurmountable at times. Healing Hearts offers assessments, testing (CAGE, BADD, SASSI), treatment planning, intensive outpatient programming, outpatient programming, medication assisted treatment (MAT), individual, group, and family program, all following the ASAM modality of treatment.

Healing Hearts is able to provide comprehensive assessment information to local courts, attorneys, children’s services, and probation departments, typically within 2-3 days.

Substance Abuse/Addiction

Substance abuse therapy involves addressing the use of a substance such as alcohol or drugs as a coping method. The goal is to work through the addiction and develop more adaptive coping methods. CBT and 12-step programs are the most common approaches.

Recovery-Oriented Challenge Therapy

This type of addiction therapy has an experiential component and is centered on an activity in which a clinical professional can actively engage with clients. Examples include group challenges and outings, outdoor activities, games or other skill-building healing activities. Designed to help clients identify strengths and skills, build social support, and address basic recovery issues, these groups assist with the development of self-care, boundaries, accountability, and trust.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Has an opioid addiction turned someone you care about into “somebody else”? Is there something that can be done to help your friend or loved one overcome this addiction? Medication-assisted treatment is one way to help those with opioid addiction recover their lives.

There are three, equally important parts to this form of treatment: medication, counseling, and support from family and friends. These three parts work together to help people recover. Medication-assisted treatment may be helpful to your friend or loved one.

Our MAT program provides patients with the option to receive Suboxone, Subutex, Bunavail, Subzolv, or Vivitrol. With three physicians and three nurses on staff, patients are provided with individualized care, focusing on their needs.

The 30-Task Model

This revolutionary model, used with groups and individuals, helps recovering people understand the interaction between trauma and brain science and how these factors play a role in the development of addiction to drugs and alcohol. Tasks 1-7 help people break through denial, participate in a culture of support, and stop the addictive behavior. Tasks 8-13 help people cope with difficult situations and emotions (that perpetuate the addiction cycle) and guides them to a place of resilience. Tasks 14-19 help individuals achieve life balance and live optimally in their recovery. Tasks 20-30 involve family members in therapy to restore relationships.

Sex Addiction Treatment

Sexual addiction is defined as any sexually-related, compulsive behavior that interferes with normal living and causes severe stress on family, friends, loved ones, and one’s work environment.

Sexual addiction has been called sexual dependency and sexual compulsivity. By any name, it is a compulsive behavior that completely dominates the addict’s life. Sexual addicts make sex a priority more important than family, friends, and work. Sex becomes the organizing principle of addicts’ lives. They are willing to sacrifice what they cherish most in order to preserve and continue their unhealthy behavior

With two certified sexual addiction therapists on staff, Healing Hearts Counseling Center is committed to working with the addict and the partner in the relationship, utilizing the materials developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes, renowned sexual addiction therapist.
